Dear Family,

Today was an eventful day. We spent quite a long time in the afternoon decorating the mess hall in preparation for the formal dinner. It turned out great! Sylvia taught us about setting a formal table. The dinner was amazing. After dinner we had our talent show – what a talented bunch we are!  After we had a riff-off which was lit.

We’re excited to see you tomorrow but sad to be leaving camp.

Goodnight.

Love,

Your Camper

Dear Family,

Rain, rain, go away!

Today was rainy. One big consolation was the delicious soup we had for lunch – that warmed us all up. Today we painted and was it ever fun. Difficult, but fun. The staff said they’d never heard us all so quiet. All of our pictures turned out different and they were all beautiful!

Tonight we had Vespers, Campfire, and snack in the lodge because of the weather and then played a game.

We hope it clears up tomorrow.

Love,

Your Camper

Hello Family,

Today was beautiful out. We got to go kayaking and had a blast. After just kayaking around the bay a bunch and having a lot of fun we headed out to the island where we ended up startling a family of ducks, causing one of the babies to get separated from the others. It ended happily though because our brave lifeguard, Roxanne, rescued the little guy and returned him to his family.

We had a ‘monk’s dinner’which means silence. If you talk or laugh you get your utensils and then the use of your hands taken away, which makes it difficult to eat, and harder for the others not to laugh. Some of us had a very hard time not laughing.
Vespers and Campfire were wonderful and so were the S’mores we made.

Tomorrow afternoon we have ‘Paint Nite’ and we’re all looking forward to it a lot.

Goodnight.

Love,

Your Camper

Dear Family,

After we arrived at camp and put our stuff away we went up to the lodge and played a get to know you game with Skittles. Then we talked about the camp theme which is the 30 Human Rights. We took the four elements of our CGIT Purpose; Cherish Health, Seek Truth, Know God, and Serve Others, and divided each human right into the element we thought it fit best. Over the four morning reflections at camp we will discuss the human rights under each element.

We had a very tasty pasta dinner, tidied up, and headed to Vespers, led by the staff. We will be leading Vespers the other evenings. After that we went to campfire and sang some songs and played some games. A late snack followed and then bed where Twila, our counsellor, read us a couple chapters of the Gordon Korman book “I Want To Go Home”.

Tomorrow we are supposed to be going kayaking. We’re super excited!

Good night!
